The cytotoxicities of UFP, SHP and GFP were determined in the human intestinal cancer DLD cells. After the treatment of the cells with increasing concentration of the three samples, cell proliferation was evaluated using MTT assay. As shown in Fig. 7, all the samples exhibited relatively strong inhibition ratios at all concentration levels and demonstrated a dose-dependent inhibition on the growth of DLD cells. Consistent with the results on MKN45 cells, the SHP sample had the highest inhibition ratio of 28.22% at 1.00 mg/mL while the inhibition ratios of UFP and GFP were only 12.57% and 19.07%.
