Apple (AAPL) is preparing to release an Apple TV platform equipped with Siri and the App Store this June, Buzzfeed News reported this week. Apple will reportedly debut its new Apple TV device at its World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco this June.
The new device will feature an updated design and improved operating system, according to Buzzfeed News, that will support Siri voice control of Apple TV.
Apple's new device, according to Buzzfeed's sources, will be dramatically different from the original model, to compete with similar set-top devices by Amazon and Roku.
The improved Apple TV will also enable users to control some remotely-operated home automation devices, Buzzfeed reported. Apple has not released an updated Apple TV since 2012.
