The magnetic separation works well for fractions bigger than
100 lm. The maximum ratio of separation is observed at particle
sizes of 315–500 lm. Small values in Bsep at coarse particle sizes
can be ascribed to the decrease in liberation. A decrease in liberation
leads to a decrease in the volumetric grade of paramagnetic
mineral phase (lower magnetic forces). A decrease in Bsep to small
particle sizes can be ascribed to particle interactions and lower
magnetic forces on the particles (fixed gap of the separator).
