StatesafterEUaccession.ThepaperfoundthattheEUStructuralFundshavepositivelyinfluenced the
sustainable energydevelopmentinBalticStates.Themajorimpactwasrelatedwithincreaseinenergy
productivitybecauseofenergysavingsachievedinrefurbishmentofresidentialbuildings.Lithuaniahas
achieved thebiggestprogressinenergyproductivitydevelopmentsince2004amongBalticStates.
Estonia wastheonlycountryfromBalticStateswhichhasallocatedstructuralaidforpromotionofwind
energy andachievedthebestresultsinincreaseoftheshareofrenewables(mainlywind)inelectricity
generation.Latviahasthehighestshareofrenewableinelectricitygenerationstructureand final energy
consumption anddidnotprovidesupportforrenewablein2007–2014howeversupportforbiomassis
foreseen in2014–2020 financing period.
