The highest tomato fruit yield was obtained under the FULL irrigation (Table 1). The percentage of marketable fruit quality (I. Quality) was also highest under FULL (86%) irrigation with PRD yielding 70% of I. Quality fruit. However, the conventional DI practice gave the lowest marketable yield (60.9%). As regards to IWUE, the PRD treatment gave the highest value, and the lowest IWUE was recorded under FULL treatment (Table 1). Fruits under the PRD treatment were matured comparatively earlier, which therefore would give 7–10 days of market advantage over other treatments (Fig. 3). Additionally, the fruits under PRD practice, quality wise, were not statistically different than FULL treatment (Table 2). Although there were no significant differences in fruit weight, total acidity (%), water soluble dry matter (%) and fruit juice pH among the tested treatments, the average fruit volume was reduced the most under conventional DI (Table 2). It was further noted that fruit dry matter under the PRD treatment was the highest.
