Discussion
In addition to semiochemicals, various factors can
inßuence trapping results in exotic species surveys
(Miller and Duerr 2008, Dodds et al. 2010). Because
resources are often limited for survey efforts, it is
critical to optimize trapping efforts to increase
chances of detecting an invading species early. Results
from the habitat type and trap placement experiments
provide further information on deployment options
for semiochemical-baited traps that will help maximize
exotic species survey efforts.
