Job Purpose
Support and implement the safety, health, and environmental programs for the plant in compliance with governmental and company regulations and policies. This position will assist in analysis of new processes or new equipment to assure the safety of operation. Position will involve development of Safety procedures and implementation of those procedures. Monitoring of safety rules and practices will be a daily activity
Principal Accountabilities
• supporting the achievement of plant health, safety, security and environmental goals
• creating and maintaining safety, security and industrial hygiene procedures and policies
• implementing, maintaining and improving SHE programs and regulation compliance
• leading and coordinating emergency response efforts
• identifying, monitoring, and performing required SHE training for the site
• serving as site SHE contact
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor degree in environmental, engineering or science discipline with experience in SHE activities in a manufacturing environment
• 10 + years of chemical plant experience and/or process indurstries preferred
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and perform calculations involving basic math calcutlation
• Ability to read and interpret regulations
• Knowledgeable in PPE requirements including selection and testing of PPE and decontamination procedures
• Knowledgeable in computer operation (Windows: Word , Excel , Lotus Notes, Internet and various other support programs)
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring practices
• Knowledgeable in Confined Space Rescue
• Knowledgeable in Elevated Rescue Procedures
• Knowledgeable of Plant Fire Water and Alarm Systems
• Good leadership skills
