To meet these challenges, many organizations are developing websites to support their
volunteers and facilitate data entry and dissemination. Indeed, the increase in the number of
citizen-based websites available to the public may be one of the many factors driving the
growth and explosion of citizen science (Silvertown 2009). As the number of organizations
