However, the lignin content increased from 33.6 ± 5.3% to
50.3 ± 0.4% when the bagasse was treated with 0.2 mol/L H2SO4,
but if the percentage of recovered solids (%SR) is considered, the
lignin content remained constant. This result can be related to
the bagasse characteristics, where it showed a more consistent texture
after treatment, which caused the acid hydrolysis step to proceed
with greater difficulty.
