This working group has two outcomes in mind. The first is to categorize the issues and opportunities associated with market cows as they enter the beef supply chain via a global survey. Based in the results of this survey, we seek to create an internet based training and education program (with free access to all) to assist those responsible for animal care in the recognition of health related problems and to respond to them in a timely and responsible manner. Our belief is that early recognition of problems and prompt, appropriate treatment are key in preventing the loss of an animal by improving the health and welfare of that animal.
