INTERNAL AGR DOCUMENT:
It has been a standing directive to capture various files for Pilot Profiler and Pilot Vision at the conclusion of ANY service, service agreement, or installation trip. These files are to be copied into the “Shipped Equipment / Service Records” folders for the particular machine at the conclusion of the trip.
The files to be captured include:
1. Config files
2. DSP configuration files
3. LVDS status info
4. Config info
5. Log files – c:pwlogs
6. Event viewer files
7. Process Pilot graphs
8. Job files
Previously, most of these files had to be captured individually.
Beginning with software version 5.8.3, there is an enhanced Diagnostics function that will automatically capture the key files and place them into a zip file. (See attached ECO 4270)
There are two versions of the data capture diagnostics feature. These are INTERNAL and EXTERNAL. With software version 5.8.3, the enhanced diagnostics are built into the machine, INTERNAL version. With this version, you will use the “Collect Diagnostics” button in the Diagnostics / General screen.
When you click on the button, it will automatically collect items 1-8 listed above and put them into a zip file.
For systems with software versions prior to 5.8.3, there is an EXTERNAL DIAGNOSTICS tool that works exactly the same as the INTERNAL tool. As noted in the word document instructions, when using the EXTERNAL version, you will need to run it two times as it will stop part way through the first time.
Attached is a zip file that contains the following files. These files are already installed with software version 5.8.3. On older machines these are all the file you will need to execute the diagnostic file capture:
1. A copy of ECO 4270 (eco4270.pdf)
2. Instructions for using the INTERNAL and EXTERNAL Diagnostics Tool (Diagnostic Tool Instructions.docx)
3. The Diagnostics ini file for configuring the diagnostic data file (diagnostics.ini)
4. The executable file (PPCollectDiag)
a. NOTE: THE FILE EXTENSION OF THE EXECUTABLE WAS CHANGED FROM .exe TO .txt SO THAT THE FILE WOULD GET THROUGH E-MAIL FIREWALLS
b. AFTER UN-ZIPPING THE FILES, RENAME THE FILE TO: PPCollectDiag.exe
It is important to note that the diagnostics.ini file must be in the same file path, (same folder), as the PPCollectDiag executable.
As noted at the start of this bulletin, the diagnostic file capture is to be done on ALL machines during service, service agreement, and installation trips.
