Christmas Most people celebrate Christmas on December 25th . Christmas is the birth of Jesus. Jesus was born two thousand years ago in the village of Bethlehem. Bethlehem is now in Israel. Jesus’s parents, Mary and Joseph, were poor people. They arrived in Bethlehem the night. Jesus was born. They had no house to stay in, so Jesus was born in stable (a house for animals). There was a beautiful bright star in the sky over the stable. Many people saw the star and came to the stable to see the baby. They gave him presents so now we give presents on Christmas. On Christmas, Santa Claus comes at night and give presents to all the good children. Most people have a Christmas tree in their house. It’s big and green and smells excellent. People put presents under the tree and open them on Christmas morning. They also write long letters to their family and friends. They send and receive Christmas cards. It feels really magical especially if there is snow! On Christmas Eve hang our Christmas stocking out for presents and leave a glass of sherry and a mince pie. On Christmas Day we open our presents and eat a big turkey dinner with Christmas pudding for dessert and the play games or watch TV. The colors of Christmas are red, green and white.
