Generally, this type of animal has an ADG of 1.4–2.0 kg (Rotta et al., 2009). According to the NRC (2000), during puberty, cattle need a diet with DM that has 120 g/kg CP to reach their total potential body development. In this study, the protein content in the diet was 108 g/kg DM which is lower than the requirements recommended by the NRC (2000).
