The wagon of WagonStays is situated in a secluded corner of a 90 acre farm, 30 minutes from Christchurch in the Selwyn district.
Built in 2005 as a flight of fancy by a design engineer, the wagon is a stunning recreation of an old western style wagon, complete with canvas canopy and a beautiful hand-crafted timber interior.
While the exterior of the wagon looks like it has just rolled off the plains of the American western frontier in 1870, the interior is anything but. Wonderfully atmospheric, the inside of the wagon contains all the comforts of home. A comfortable queen size bed with luxurious linen, soft leather sofa and wood-stove all come together to create a cosy place to relax.
Thoughtful landscaping around the wagon creates a pleasant outside patio area, incorporating a BBQ and outdoor seating. A classic claw-foot outdoor bath is just metres away from the wagon door.
A delicious continental breakfast is included in your stay, and you can choose to either self-cater for your evening meal or really treat yourself with one of host, Jasmine's, nourishing home-cooked meals for a little bit extra.
Guests can do as little or as much as they like during their stay. Those who are able to tear themselves away from the comfort and luxury of the Wagon are encouraged to discover the farm setting. Dog lovers will enjoy meeting Bud, the friendly Labrador. The resident chooks strut around like they own the place and generally earn their keep bylaying eggs, which are free to use or take home. There is also a shearing shed where guests can play table tennis. The crops grown on the working farm include various small seed crops and golden fields of wheat with an adjacent paddock home to over 100 ewes and lambs.

The wagon is a truly luxurious, unique glamping experience. The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion - or just to treat yourselves to some relaxation and fresh, country air.
