A slightly modified view (a), angled to optimize imaging of the pulmonary arteries in the patient imaged to
produce Figure 6, reveals significant hypoplasia of the pulmonary trunk and the pulmonary arteries, which
result from the antero-cephalad deviation of the outlet septum. The pulmonary valvar leaflets are not visualized. In
panel b, colour Doppler has been used, and demonstrates turbulence and acceleration of the flow of blood in the right ventricular
outflow tract, originating at the level of the deviated outlet septum. The turbulence continues into the hypoplastic pulmonary
trunk and pulmonary arteries.
