The result from Tables 1, 2, and 3 illustrated positive feedbacks from learners that their
vocabulary comprehensions have significantly improved from pre-test to post-test in the IMS
research. Moreover, after students were viewing movie videos with L2 subtitles, had resulted in
students’ English vocabulary comprehensions which was better than solely viewing movie
videos without subtitles. (Effect size was 0.904 = Large) Additionally, the difference between
viewing movie without subtitle and with subtitle was statistically significant. Therefore, it can be
concluded that IMS facilitated the development of the English vocabulary comprehension of
upper secondary level students and also creates awareness that the instructional media (IMS) is efficiently motivated students to learn English language such as English vocabulary through L2
subtitles, therefore, teachers or educators can apply this instructional media (IMS) onto their
teaching, as this developed instructional media is not only making the lesson more lively, but
what had attracted the idea of using IMS is how much learners can learn English vocabulary
from viewing movies with L2 subtitles that were carefully selected and pre-viewed, and
eventually, English vocabulary comprehension has improve successfully as the results showed.
