Room temperature magnetization showed a ferromagnetic behavior and increases with increasing amount of Ni impurity, having specific magnetizations of 0.098, 0.141, 0.399, and 0.484 emu=g at 10 kOe for the La0.5Sr0.5Ti1−x-NixO3 nanofibers with x = 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, and 0.05, respectively. The oxygen vacancies may play an important role in inducing room-temperature ferromagnetism in La0.5Sr0.5Ti1−xNixO3 nanofibers. Our results indicate that the ferromagnetic property of La0.5Sr0.5Ti1−xNixO3 nanofibers is intrinsic. This work demonstrates that a simple method can be used to fabricate the La0.5Sr0.5Ti1−xNixO3 nanofibers, which may potentially be useful for nanotechnology applications such as spintronics.
