Jetblue was the sixth largest Us-based carrier and operated primarily out of key focus cities along the East and West Coasts. A large hub at New York's JFK airport complemented Emirates' triple-daily Dubai-JFK service, which allowed Emirates to build a feeder network and aggregate passengers from 27 US cities it did not currently serve. While the codeshare agreement was mutually beneficial for both parties at present, outside observers questioned whether this relationship would endure moving forward as Emirates continued to weight a more rapid expansion into the US Market.
