The combination of NTP with catalysts has been extensively adopted to enhance pollutant removal, and different
catalysts have been studied for this purpose, such as TiO2 photocatalyst [4–6], alumina and silica gel [7], Fe2+ [2], Fe3O4 [8] and activated carbon [3], etc. However, other catalysts need to be studied to enhance the synergetic effect between these techniques and herein we propose the use of mineral pyrite as a catalyst to remove methylene blue (MB) from solution.
