Landfilling currently is the main option for the utilization of municipal solid waste (MSW) in Lithuania. MSW can be landfilled despite its composition, calorific value, moisture, etc. However, landfilling needs to be limited, taking into account the hierarchy of waste management and other requirements of legislation.
