3.4. Lack of quality and convenience of the system
3.4.1. Limitation of network transmission
Since some patients lack the residential network devices and some long-term care community institutions are only equipped with outdated software and hardware, the transmission equipment cannot be used, and the integration of data transmission and electronic medical records are unavailable. As a result, data need to be recorded on paper and then imported to the computer, resulting in extra workload for the nurses. There are various specifications of telecare instruments manufactured by different suppliers. Since the specifications are not standardized, some of the instruments are not compatible with the information systems in hospitals, thus there is a limitation of applicable telecare transmission, affecting the quality and availability of the service.
