The effects of temperature and pressure
The effects of pressure and temperature on the SC-CO2 extraction
of Sacha inchi oil were investigated at pressures of 300 and
400 bar and temperatures of 40, 50 and 60 ◦C. The SC-CO2 flow rate
was maintained constant at 4×10−5 kg/s and the mean particle
size was 0.84mm. Table 2 shows the results of the supercritical
extraction, the conventional Soxhlet extraction with hexane and
the cold-pressing extraction.
The global yield of Sacha inchi oil obtained with SC-CO2
increased with extraction pressure for all temperatures. The maximum
oil yield obtained was 50.1%, which corresponds to 92.3%
recovery.
