Copper oxide (CuO) is a narrow band gap semiconductor material. It possesses unique physical properties and great potential for diverse electronic and photonic applications that require superconductivity, colossal magnetoresistivity, and piezoelectricity. Owing to inimitable physical and electronic properties, CuO is widely used in gas sensor, lithium–copper oxide electrochemical cells, magnetic storage media, solar energy transformations, etc. [9–12].
