In this paper, a novel design of a dual-band planar monopole antenna with asymmetric CPW-feed technology,
consisting of a rectangular structure loaded with a slit and branch strips at top of the patch, is presented for WLAN applications.
The simulated result shows that the proposed antenna has good impedance bandwidth and radiation characteristics in the operating bands which cover the required band widths of the 5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands.
Details of the design considerations are presented, and results of the implemented prototype are discussed in the following section.
