The shoot relative growth rate without added silicon was 0.155 ± 0.010 g g−1 day−1
Silicon addition at the time when sodium chloride was applied increased the relative growth rate of shoots by 22.2% (0.189 ± 0.009 g g−1 day−1 ), while silicon pretreatment before salt stress did not change the relative growth rate of shoots (0.174 ± 0.007 g g−1 day−1 ) as compared to salt treatment alone.
