Bravery is the quality or state of showing courageous behavior or character. The theme of bravery and its many forms are illustrated throughout the story of The Maze Runner, and on this website, I've tried to capture this theme and its forms with both quotes from the book and images.
Oftentimes, when we think of bravery, we only think of physical bravery. "The knight in shining armor" or "our hero" so to speak; someone who has displayed HEROISM. Obviously, HEROISM is definitely a form of bravery. We see this form of bravery in The Maze Runner, when on pg. 362 the Hideous Woman says, "Gonna save us all! Gonna save us from the Flare! Don't believe a word they tell ya! Gonna save us from the Flare, ya are!" (Dashner, 2009). She is telling us that these kids are going to save the Earth from this disease and sickness. She is basically calling them the Earth's "Hero", which is why an image of a superhero next to her quote seems fitting.
