Wastewater treatment plants, agricultural runoff and wildlife
constitute possible sources of fecal pollution. From most commonly
used fecal indicator organisms, fecal coliforms, denote fecal contamination
but not whether it is of human or animal origin (Wéry
et al., 2010). Some fecal bacteria, such as E. coli and enterococci,
survive, grow, and establish populations in natural environments
such as fresh water lakes and streams, sand beach, soils and sediments,
and plant cavities. Therefore, it is reasonable that car wash
wastewater may experience fecal coliforms contamination
