4.3. Research question 2: how do the schools compare in terms of science teaching resources?
Both types of schools identified a lack of resources as a challenge in general. Almost half of all teachers reported that a lackof resources was one of their biggest concerns in teaching science at their school. Nevertheless, school principals generally perceived the school to be better resourced than the teachers. Principals of public schools more often cited resources as amajor problem in enhancing science education at their institution than for private schools. In fact, several private school principals stated that science facilities and resources were one of the school’s strengths.
