For the determination of the chlorophyll content, 5 g of broccoli
raab tissue (randomly taken from flowers, stem and leaves) were
immersed in 20mL methanol for 24 h at 20 ◦C in darkness. Chlorophyll
quantification was performed spectrophotometrically at 653,
666 and 470nmand the chlorophyll content was expressed as g per
kg of fresh weight using the equation reported by Wellburn (1994).
