No statistically significant (P> 0.48) mean difference at baseline was observed for GBI between the dentifrice groups.
Both groups exhibited statistically significant (P< 0.001) mean reductions in GBI at Month 2 relative to baseline (Table 2). The stannous fluoride test dentifrice group had a statistically significantly (P< 0.001) lower GBI relative to the triclosan/
copolymer group at Month 2, with adjusted means (SE) of 4.71 (0.32) and 6.80 (0.32), respectively (Table 3). Between-treatment comparisons for Month 2 improvement from baseline demonstrated that the adjusted mean improvement in GBI for the stannous fluoride test group (6.41) was 48% greater (P< 0.001) than that of the triclosan/copolymer group (4.32) (Table 3).
