tourism and the conservation of wildlife has led to
increasing alienation of the tourism and wildlife
resources from Kenya's rural peasanls. The social
conditions and modes of resource use of Kenya's
rural peasants are quite different from those of the
West. Peasants, preoccupied by meeting their subsistence
needs, may not support the ethical and
aesthetic values of wildlife conservation and tourism
development.
