Police in Dubai have been trying to locate a man who scams supercar owners, purchasing their vehicle with a fake cheque, before driving away in their prized automobile.
The criminal most recently scammed an Egyptian Porsche Cayenne owner, who had his 2011 Porsche listed on a website for 200,000 AED (approx £35,000). The seller was approached by a buyer to view the vehicle, who arrived in a Ferrari 458. Suspecting that the interesting buyer was legitimate, the seller agreed to sell the car, with the buyer paying with a cheque.
