In past decades, high employee turnover has been an important issue for many hoteliers and a focus of academic interest. Although hoteliers often use retention techniques to retain capable employees, the The current study has two major objectives: (1) to understand the factors considered by employees when they decide to leave and change workplaces and (2) to analyze the strategies taken by the managers to reduce employee turnover. In order to investigate the mentalities of those who leave, and the reasons behind their decisions to change workplaces, in-depth interviews were used to collect data. A qualitative analysis was used to analyze and summarize the reasons for the turnover of hotel supervisory and managerial staff, as well as the corresponding strategies taken by the managers to keep their employees.
