The spatio-temporal parameters of the control group were recorded using an instrumented mat (GAITRite CIR system Inc, Havertown, PA, USA). The mat consists of a flat instrumented walkway with a series of embedded pressure sensitive switches connected to a computer installed with GAITRite application software [12], [13]. The GaitRite system was reported as a valid tool for assessing spatiotemporal parameters when compared to a three-dimensional motion analysis system (Vicon) [12].
