This current political cartoon by Steve Sack from the Star Tribune serves an analogy for this cartoonist's evalutation on the Deficit Reduction Commission via what Santa, possibly a symbol for the government or public majority, thinks each deserves for Christmas. As seen here, the unemployed gets its mere candy cane, while the middle class upholds its standard of sufficient wealth, the rich just keep on getting richer, while we see Santa's definitely put the Deficit Reduction Commission on his naughty list, due to the superfluous amount of coal placed in the commission's worn and almost torn stocking. It proves to show the public is dissatisfied with the way the government, in particular this commission has handled our nation's rising debt problem. Along with our housing and banking fiascos, we're still indebted to China, and will be for a while, while the value of the dollar slowly decreases. This cartoons criticalattitude toward the management of the deficit crisis and a reduction commission which, under it, the debt has continued to increase.
