For the isolation of Salmonella spp., selective enrichment was performed in Rappaport-Vassiliadis-soya broth to be incubated at 41.5 C. After 24 h of incubation, a 0.1 ml sample was plated on RAPID’Salmonella agar and plates were incubated at 37 C for 24 h (±2 h). While for L. monocytogenes, Fraser ½ broth was used in the selective enrichment and after incubation for 1 h at 20 C, 0.1ml of the homogenate was transferred onto RAPID’L. monocytogenes agar plates to be incubated at 37 C for 24e48 h.
