none had any known history of psychiatric illness.
The HAM-D and YMRS were not administered to
the control subjects as these are not diagnostic
tools but rather assess severity of depressive and
manic symptomatology respectively. Demographic
information is shown in Table 1.
Ethical permission for the study was obtained
from the Newcastle Health Authority Ethics Board
and written informed consent was obtained from
each participant.
