Job Purpose
This position will work collaboratively within the instructional design, content development team, and within cross-functional project teams, serving as the instructional technology consultant and learning management system expert, to create premier online, degree programs and courses for Stamford International University.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Acts as Learning Management System (LMS), Content Management System (CMS), and Laureate portal expert, and recommends specific technologies that might enhance the learning experience.
Functions as “test pilot” to evaluate and improve course content with an eye toward student experience and sound instructional design standards.
Collaborates on project teams consisting of content developers and/or instructional designers, media professionals, and editors to ensure all course content aligns with institutional standards and is coherent and appropriate for the intended audience.
May serve as content developer and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete course content development and build in the LMS
Creates courses in LMS, assuring all course components are complete, uploaded, and fully functional.
Assists with onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
May collaborate with ISD leadership to develop and deliver training to in-house staff and contractors.
Provides oversight of work performed by external vendors and contractors, as needed.
Performs a quality control check of built courses against pre-defined departmental standards, as needed.
Helps to develop and implement standard processes across the product development teams (ISD, Course Development, and Product Quality).
Leads team and/or project meetings, as needed.
Creates and maintains project-specific style guides, as needed.
