Conclusions
These findings support the hypothesis that poor governance and corruption contributes to
levels of antibiotic resistance and correlate better than antibiotic usage volumes with resistance
rates. We conclude that addressing corruption and improving governance will lead to
a reduction in antibiotic resistance
