The state-run company, also known as Telephone Organization of Thailand, provides local telephone service and domestic long-distance to consumers and businesses throughout the country. It also provides wireless service under such brands as Cellular 470 and Thai Mobile (a joint venture with CAT Telecom). TOT also offers broadband Internet access and operates public telephones. Connectivity services for businesses include high-capacity Web connections, leased line services, managed virtual private networks, and metropolitan local area networks. The company was founded in 1954.
