CCTV shows gang driving in convoy to robbery
A CCTV film shows how a criminal gang travelled in convoy to rob an innocent man. Wayne Dujon was at an address in Fareham as the gang set out to steal £50,000 on March 31 last year. Judge Sarah Munro QC jailed the gang for a total of 35 years and laid bare their roles and pasts. She said getaway driver Stewart Broughton was ‘happy to lend a hand to assist those with crime for a fee.’
Even during the trial he was arrested and found with phones – one of which he was going to give to Dujon. Judge Munro said Nathan Brown was the muscle on the raid. She said: ‘You were known as Biggs due to your intimidating look and size.’
Addressing Tyrone Smith, she said: ‘Mr Smith you have a dreadful record.’ But she added: ‘You have shown some remorse since.’Judge Munro told Jenkins that she was Dujon’s ‘right-hand woman’ but added: ‘In your case there’s cause for optimism in the future.’
Portsmouth Crown Court heard Dujon had written letters in prison in an attempt to pervert the course of justice, which he admitted. Frank Abbott, defending, said the letters were nonsense.
Dujon had been recalled to prison for a previous offence of wounding with intent when he attacked a man with a samurai sword. Between them the gang had previous convictions for burglary, robbery and assaults.
