Some people believe that it is wrong to keep animals in zoos, while others think that zoos are both entertaining and ecologically important. Discuss both views.
One can’t deny that most people have ever visited a zoo at least once in their lifetime. Although some think that a zoo has no use or particular purposes, I strongly disagree with such belief due to its benefits.
From an education perspective, zoos allow humans to study varied kinds of animals more closely. Take the zoologist and schoolchildren for instance. They can easily observe rich wildlife including mammals, reptiles, poultry, aquatic animals, and so on. This would lead them to get a better understanding of zoology. Moreover, they may discover new information in order to adapt for other fields.
From an environment point of view, not only do zoos conserve wildlife, but also help them breeding in the offspring. Rare and endangered species are a case in point. Most zoos promote the awareness of animals that are about to extinct, which means that individuals can help fund the repopulation of those animals. Furthermore, zoos are teeming with wildlife so there are more chances which will produce young creatures in any season such as Samuthprakarn crocodile farm.
In terms of entertainment, the zoo has become a tourist attraction and a place of pride for a country. Chiang Mai Twilight Zoo is one of the landmarks in the city where visitors can enjoy a special night tour on a safe and experience the sights and sounds of nocturnal wildlife. There is no doubt that it attracts millions of visitors every year.
All in all, I am of the opinion that zoos bring about numerous useful reasons.
