In China, mumps was included as a Class C infectious disease
since 1990. In 2004, the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System
of China CDC (NNDRS) was initiated at China CDC and the
number of reported mumps cases was collected for the entire
country. In 2007, mumps vaccine was introduced into the Chinese
national routine immunization program, and one dose of mumps
containing vaccine was routinely given to infants aged 18–
24 months beginning in 2007.
