Chapter 25: The match ended at 2-0 to Barcelona. I wanted to see what was up with Ney, because he looked fuming! I ran down the steps and through the tunnel. I looked through each corridor to find the changing room. I walked in and saw him sat against the locker, with his head in his hands. The room was silent, completely silent. “Ney? What’s wrong? Why were you sent off?” I asked and knelt down next to him. “Just.. go away” he said, dryly. “Is this because of her?” I asked. He shook his head, but then he slowly lifted his head up and his eyes were full of sadness and they were red and puffy. I could tell he had been crying. He nodded. “Ney, why? Stop killing yourself! She’s not worth your tears! Forget her!” I said. “I can’t! I don’t know what’s wrong with me!” he sobbed. “Ney..” I sighed and hugged him. “I promise you’ll find a beautiful girl one day, who will make you super happy” I said. “Come on, let’s go home... you need to rest” I said looking at him. We all went back to the hotel and packed our bags, and got onto the bus which drove us to the airport. The flight wasn’t to long but I was exhausted and when we arrived at his house, I almost collapsed onto his sofa but I luckily managed to keep myself on my feet. “Hey, it’s better if you get some rest. You’re tired” I said. He nodded and he went upstairs, I sat on the sofa and rummaged through my bag and rang Gil. “How is he?” he asked. “Not too great, unfortunately, but I told him to go rest since he’s tired” I said. “Oh, that’s good” he replied. We talked for a little bit, until it started getting quite late. I knew Gil, very well. He’s a kind and genuine guy, and so is Jo. They’re both lovely, and I counted them as best friends as well.
