Picture this, a personal helper who guides you to the right path. That’s what I have! That wonderful personal guide that I am describing is my Dad. He is very supportive in everything that I do. Without him, it would be really hard to do anything. My Dad, my hero, is the light in my life because he helps me with my homework, plays with me, and is a very caring and patient person. He’s been helping me since I was born! My Dad does many good things for my benefit. What would happen if I didn’t have him? I wonder what my life would be like.
When we have hard tests and difficult homework assignments and I don’t fully grasp the concepts, he takes the time to explain it. He goes over the material step by step to help me grasp the meaning. Once, we had a really hard and challenging test and I couldn’t get it. My wonderful and helpful Dad was very patient in explaining it to me in ways that I could begin to understand.
Another way that my dad is helpful is when he takes me outside to play. My mom is always busy cooking, cleaning or reviewing my homework and assignments and does not have the time to play. So my Dad sacrifices his time to play or watch football and other sports with me. Sometimes it seems like he gets more enjoyment from the playing than I do.
He is also very helpful because he is aware of anything that happens in our neighborhood. When I ride my bike on the street, he is always there watching over me. He tries to keep me safe. I like this quality about him.
My dad is very fun to be around. He is also a nice person. Whenever I need stuff for school, my Dad is always available to go to the store. He does things unselfishly to help me and others.
One example of his caring for me and others is expressed through the way that he helps my classmates have a neat and clean table in the cafeteria. Oftentimes, after breakfast is served in the morning, scraps of food and trash remain at our table. My dad will clean up our table by removing every piece of trash until the table is cleared. He does this without being asked to do so, and, he never expects to be thanked or recognized for his actions. He is like a robot with all of the stuff he does for me. He is the nicest robot, but, it’s amazing because he is not a robot.
All of these wonderful things about my dad are true and I wanted to share it with you. He is like the manager of the nicest crew. Who knew that he was that amazing? I knew because he is the “wonderful light of my life.”
