showed a better behaviour and shelf-life at 5◦C, and therefore, they can be stored easily for at least eight days without any visible deterioration or decay. Further studies should be carried out to determine first whether this fruit is climacteric or not, and also other physiological parameters such as tolerance lower temperatures (below 5◦C), the effect of gas composition, anoxia and other treatments to extend the shelf-life to two weeks, and this will certainly boost the aril fresh local and export markets.
