The here reported underwater noise levels (about 100 dB re 1 μPa for 63 and 125 1/3 octave bands and about 125 dB re 1 μPa once considering the entire wideband) are similar to the one obtained in previous local studies: the underwater noise measured in 2006–2007 at the WWFNatural Marine Reserve of Miramare (Trieste, station C121 of the present study) was ranging from 97 to 127 dB re 1 μPa in the wideband of 40 Hz–20 kHz (Picciulin and Codarin, 2007; Codarin, 2008; Codarin
et al., 2009; Picciulin et al., 2010) and it was ranging from 81 to 110 dB re 1 μPa and from 89 to 110 dB re 1 μPa in the 63 and 125 1/3 octave bands, respectively (Picciulin, unpublished data)
