In total, 30 in-depth interviews were undertaken with job seekers. Respondents were recruited through a referral based convenience sample utilising a snow balling technique. Job seekers were chosen as they are engaged in the recruitment process, allowing them to provide informed comments on the topic at hand. In order to maximise the richness of the insights generated from interviews, respondents were chosen from a range of cultural backgrounds (Australia, Germany,India, Canada, and Singapore), different educational backgrounds and were of varied age. All but five of the respondents have held previous full-time work positions and were seeking for either a
new job or a career change.
