Acid hydrolysis of 2. Compound 2 (10 rag) was
subjected to acid hydrolysis as described for 1 to give
an aglycone (2a) (5.9 mg) and a mixt. of monosaccharides
(4.0 mg). Physical and spectral data of 2a:
ref. [1]. The monosaccharides were identified as oxylose
and L-rhamnose by direct TLC comparison
with authentic samples and HPLC analysis of their
corresponding 1-[(S)-N-acetyl-~-methylbenzylamino]-
l-deoxyalditol acetate derivatives. R I (n-BuOHMe2CO-
H20, 4:5: 1): 0.64 (rhamnose); 0.55 (xylose).
Rt (min): 18.63 (o-xylose derivative); 27.23 (t-rhamnose
derivative).
