Myanmar has no Intellectual Property Laws. The rights of the parties setting up rival claims to ownership of a trademark are determined in accordance with the principles of common law. Therefore, the current practices to protect a trademark in Myanmar are as follows:
1. Registration of the Declaration of Ownership of the Trademark with the Registrar of Deeds and Assurances
2. Publication of a Cautionary Notice in a local newspaper.
3. Both Registration of the Declaration of Ownership and Publication of a Cautionary Notice
